!The Challenge

A senior management consultant with 15 years of experience at a Big 4 firm went independent 3 years prior. She was generating $250/hour from referral clients but felt stuck: her expertise was deep, her reputation was strong within her existing network, but outside that network she was invisible. New clients compared her on price because they had no way to evaluate her expertise independently.

The Strategy

A 18-month personal brand and thought leadership program: named her methodology (The Organizational Clarity Framework), documented it in a flagship LinkedIn article and white paper, built a posting cadence of 2 substantive POV posts per week on LinkedIn, started a monthly newsletter with 500 initial subscribers (her existing network), and systematically produced case study content with anonymized client results. AI assisted with structuring and first-draft production; she wrote the strategic insight layer herself.

The Results

Hourly rate from $250 to $750 in 18 months. Inbound inquiry rate went from 1-2/month (referral-only) to 6-8/month (mix of referral and inbound digital). Newsletter grew to 4,200 subscribers. Accepted a paid keynote speaking invitation at month 14 — her first.

The Naming Decision That Changed Everything

The methodology existed before we started the program. She had been applying the same four-step process to organizational clarity challenges for years: Diagnose, Define, Align, Embed. She called it "my process" in client conversations.

We named it The Organizational Clarity Framework (OCF) and built everything around it.

Named frameworks are memorable. Memorable frameworks get shared. Shared frameworks build credibility at scale in a way that "I have a process" never does.

Within 6 months, she was being introduced at conferences as "the person behind the Organizational Clarity Framework" by people she had never met — because they had read her LinkedIn content and passed it to others.

The Two-Posts-Per-Week Cadence

Two posts per week, every week, for 18 months. No exceptions.

Each post fell into one of three categories:

  • Framework application: "Here is how the OCF would diagnose this real-world organizational challenge I read about this week"
  • Case study vignette: "Here is what happened when a client tried to skip the Align step (anonymized)"
  • Contrarian observation: "Here is what the management consulting industry gets wrong about change management"

This consistency built a reputation not just for expertise but for reliability — she showed up every week, and the content was consistently worth reading. That reliability became the meta-message: this is what working with her would be like.

The Rate Conversation

By month 12, prospective clients arrived at first conversations having consumed 30-40 pieces of her content. They were not comparing her to other consultants — they were trying to convince her to work with them. This entirely changed the fee conversation.

She raised her rate twice: at month 9 ($250 to $500) and again at month 15 ($500 to $750). Both times, she had more inquiries after the increase than before.
